Currently, Guardians in Minnesota are engaging local governments to adopt a stronger “public trust” approach to their work.
One of our projects is to collaborate with environmental organizations and work to get the “Precautionary Principle” as a preamble to city comprehensive planning documents. The Precautionary Principle states that, “when an activity raises threats of harm to human health or the environment, precautionary measures should be taken even if some cause and effect relationships are not fully established scientifically.”
